(21 January 2016) Brian McConnell, President of Burr OAK Tool will be giving joint presentations with Ed Rottmann, Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Tube Development with Luvata Tubes division at the AHR Expo 2016 being held in Orlando, Florida January 25th – 27th. The joint presentations will focus on the current and future trends of heat exchange coil designs and the inherent manufacturing challenges introduced in delivering these new and innovative solutions to the market.
The HVACR Industry is looking to smaller diameter tubes that can withstand the higher pressures required by the new generation of environmentally friendlier coolants such as CO2 and the challenges of applying HFO blends and hydrocarbons. Included in the environmentally friendly refrigerants are hydrocarbons (HCs). They are highly flammable with the right air-fuel ratio. Therefore it is even more important that the industry take extra precautions to prevent refrigeration system leaks. Current regulations limit the amount of HCs in refrigeration systems.
Smaller diameter tube coils reduce the internal volume, using less refrigerant in the system. However traditional mechanical expansion methodologies have limited the use of inner tube enhancements that could prove even more efficient with the growing trend toward smaller diameter tube.
Burr OAK and Luvata will explore new manufacturing technologies that will enable higher efficiency with smaller diameter, inner grooved tube in heat exchange coil designs. The presentations are part of Burr OAK’s seminar series held in Burr OAK’s booth #3831 on each day of the show at various times. Space is limited so register today.
