Luvata Improves Heat-Exchanger Durability with AST ElectroFin Acquisition

April 10, 2007
Luvata is pleased to announce that it has acquired a 55 per cent majority ownership of AST ElectroFin, the leading provider of corrosion protection and durability solutions for fin and tube heat exchangers.

AST ElectroFin will be renamed to Luvata ElectroFin Inc. and continue to serve its customer base, operating as a standalone business.  Both companies are excited about working together to provide their customers with corrosion control solutions for heat exchangers.

Dennis Appel, Vice-President & General Manager, Coils Business Unit from Luvata, explains: “We bought a majority ownership in ElectroFin to improve our ability to offer coating solutions to coil corrosion problems, both now and as new applications arise in the future. The addition of the ElectroFin product line strengthens Luvata’s position as the leading global provider of heat transfer products and solutions for the HVAC&R industry.”
ElectroFin has been operating since 1958. The excellent corrosion resistance of ElectroFin e-coating, as well as the uniformity of coverage and coating thickness, is recognized internationally as the best corrosion durability protection for fin and tube heat exchangers in coastal environments. Over the past seven years, over a million ElectroFin coated coils have been placed in applications all over the world.
