(3 May 2016) Luvata in Delaware, Ohio was selected as a 2016 Partner of the Year by Career Based Intervention (CBI), a division of the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education. The award recognizes Luvata Ohio for its expertise and commitment in preparing students to achieve great things when they enter the world of work.

CBI Instructor Nicki Wright presented the award to Craig Conroy, Plant Manager with Luvata Ohio, at the CBI State Convention held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Dublin, Ohio on Sunday, May 1, 2016. Wright is responsible for the satellite program from the Delaware Area Career Center at Dempsey Middle School.

In recognition of Manufacturing Day, an occasion during which manufacturers open their doors to showcase the potential of modern manufacturing and foster interest in manufacturing careers, CBI students get to visit several local manufacturers to learn more about the many different rewarding careers available in manufacturing.

The Career-Based Intervention (CBI) program is a Career-Technical Education Program designed for students ages 12-21 in grades 7-12 who are identified as disadvantaged (either academically or economically or both) or students with disabilities and who have barriers to achieving academic and career success. The program is to help students improve academic competence, graduate from high school, develop employability skills, implement a career plan and participate in a career pathway in preparation for postsecondary education and/or careers.
