Luvata dispels need to compromise with new air-cooled condensers

(9 March 2011).  Luvata Grenada announces its new range of air-cooled condensers that reduce refrigerant charge, are quieter, and are up to 25% more energy efficient.  Manufactured by Luvata in Europe for over 25 years and now also in Grenada, Mississippi, the 800mm series air-cooled condensers are available with enhanced copper tube/aluminium fin or with all aluminium Microchannel coils, both compatible with environmentally friendly refrigerants R404A, R-507, R410A and R134a.

The round tube models of the series 800mm air-cooled condensers are available in a single-wide configuration from 1 to 7 fans (11 to 134 tons) and double-wide configuration from 4 to 14 fans (32 to 260 tons).  The enhanced tubing, advanced sinusoidal fin design and Luvata’s unique pierce-flare-reflare tube mounting design ensure optimal performance and durability of the coils.  The broad use of 5/16” and 3/8” diameter tubing keeps refrigerant charge to a minimum without creating excessive pressure drops.

The Microchannel models are available in a double-wide configuration from 2 to 14 fans (20 to 248 tons) and deliver the advantages of a compact size and up to a 75% reduction in refrigerant charge. The modular design of the Microchannel models is based on one coil with two fan motors that may be combined into virtually any configuration, offering a wide variety of capacities and capabilities.

“Many standard features have been built into the Luvata 800mm air-cooled condenser, including the pre-painted galvanized steel cabinet, tall venturi fan panels and single speed 3-phase fan motors with dual voltage,” indicates Mark Westphal, Director of Business Development with Luvata Heat Transfer Solutions North America.  “We also offer a full range of ultra-efficient variable speed EC fan motors as well as an extensive list of other available options, so there is no reason to compromise anymore."

For units that will be exposed to corrosive environments such as ocean salt spray, acid rain or nearby incinerators, power plants or industrial smoke stacks, Luvata recommends and offers ElectroFin® E-Coat, the finest coil protection available with excellent corrosion resistance as well as uniformity of coverage and coating thickness.

Based on the early success of the 800mm condenser, Luvata will also be launching a series of 500mm air-cooled condensers that offer the same no compromise features, but for smaller systems or applications.
