(3 February 2014). Despite temperatures 10 to 20 degrees below normal, over 10 inches of snow and more than 7,000 flights delayed or cancelled across the U.S., Luvata spirits ran high following the 2014 AHR Expo held January 21-23 at the Javits Convention Center in New York.
“Although the show is in the U.S., it has attendees from all over the world,” says Mike Powell, Director Sales and Marketing with Luvata ElectroFin. “We’ve not only met with customers from North America, but we also met with people who wanted to talk about our Ramos, Mexico and San Vito, Italy facilities. This show also gives us the opportunity to talk directly with end users about the benefits of ElectroFin® E-Coat and Luvata Insitu® coil coatings,” indicates Powell.
“We want to get face-to-face with our customers and AHR is a great opportunity to meet with multiple customers in a 3-day setting. That hasn't changed,” continues Mark Crothers, Sales Manager, Components & Import/Export for Luvata Tubes Americas. “What has changed is that our customers’ availability continues to be limited. Whether at expos or at the customer's location, we must be prepared and focused to make the most of the time we have with them,” suggests Crothers.
“Overall,” summarizes Crothers, “there was a great turnout this year considering the weather, and the mood seemed optimistic. We’re encouraged as we look forward to 2014.”
The Expo had a record 61,210 registered attendees, the highest ever for the show. The world’s largest HVACR marketplace had more than 1,800 companies reserving more than 385,000 square feet of booth space.
