Malia Powers receives ASHRAE Technical Energy and Governmental Affairs Award
(5 November 2013). Malia Powers, Luvata ElectroFin Business Unit Manager for the East Coast, received the 2013 Technical Energy and Governmental Affairs Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) West Coast chapter in Tampa, Florida. This is the second year in a row that Malia has won this award.
Armed with an engineering degree and as a member of the board of directors for the ASHRAE Tampa Chapter, Malia makes it her mission to support activities and build community involvement surrounding energy and sustainability.
Malia volunteers her time to provide information and support to the government sector in Florida concerning building science, policy, energy updates and basic changes in engineering that need to be communicated to the broader local audience.
This award recognizes Malia’s dedication and unwavering determination in building a highly effective and productive relationship between governmental affairs and the engineering community as it relates to energy and sustainability.
