Important aspects of buying a car

In our poll about the most important aspect in buying a car we didn't segregate gender, but I don't think that makes much of a difference. One third of people confirmed features and functions are most important. Surprisingly purchase price was a bit behind with 21 %. I could argue that the selection battle is between cars in the 'suitable price range' - at least that's true for us "Average Joes" to whom money is still some sort of an object.

Cost of ownership got 19% of the votes. To my suprise the brand got only 14 % of votes. Environmental implications came in last with 12 %. I'm sure environmental aspects is something many of us think about, but since we only allowed you to select one answer... maybe you DO care about the planet.

I am in the process of buying a new car and going through all feelings in the spectrum. My current car has served me well. She was an easy car and we shared some good times, but now it's time for us to part ways. I can't fight the smell of a new car anymore.

Looking into candidates, I have first selected my price range. Being completely honest there are just a few options I couldn't bring myself to consider. There is no logical reasoning for ruling out certain brands without even giving them a chance but I can't hide from the nagging, tiny voice inside of me saying those cars aren't for me. Advertisers and marketers: I have listened.

Engine power, consumption and Euro NCAP ratings are no strangers to me after investigating, comparing and test-driving several cars. Air-conditioning and cruise control are at the top of my wishlist along with two cup-holders. No, I'm not ashamed to admit it.

It has been a long process but now it's decided...

My next car will be pearl white.
