Diesel & Hydrogen Injector Sleeves

Diesel injector sleeves and hydrogen injector sleeves in copper and steel.

Diesel & Hydrogen Injector Sleeve

Luvata plays a major role in the automotive sector, actively manufacturing high volumes and developing specialized components for motorsport. Our diesel and hydrogen injector sleeves are available in copper and steel.

Our expertise in precision cold forming and machining enables engine, chassis, and drivetrain manufacturers for both cars and commercial vehicles to maximize the performance and efficiency of key components such as diesel and hydrogen injector sleeves. We can offer a complete package of services, from design and prototyping, through low and high-volume production, to project management and single source agreements to help you minimize costs, reduce lead times and improve quality and reliability of supply.

Cold Forming Precision Metal Components

Cold forming is a method for producing simple, high-volume components such as fasteners quickly and cost effectively. It retains the integrity of the metal and produces parts with highly polished surfaces, dramatically improving the component’s performance.

Unlike some traditional energy intensive, time consuming and often wasteful methods of shaping metal, cold forming is a particularly simple process that produces metal components at low ambient temperatures without removing any material. Increasingly, this process is being used to produce high precision components from a range of metals including advanced engineered metals. Hydrogen gas injector sleeves, for example, require absolute precision to prevent leaks and control the pressure and flow of hydrogen because it is a low-density gas.

Manufacturing Locations

Cold-Formed Copper and Steel Injector Sleeves

Injector sleeves are critical components that transfer and dispense heat away from the injector. They also help seal the fuel injector to the cylinder head to stop coolant mixing with combustion gases in engines used in automotive, marine and heavy industrial applications. Without a robust seal, combustion gases and coolant will leak into the fuel system resulting in failure of the injector.

Cold forming copper or steel into injector sleeves, rather than using other manufacturing methods, creates higher quality, uniform sleeves with more consistent wall thicknesses. This prevents variations in temperature that would negatively impact the life of the injector in the engine.

Machined Diesel and Hydrogen Injector Sleeves

If profiles are required that are not suitable for cold-forming, Luvata Welshpool can machine from bar or billet to tight tolerances.

With the need to reduce wastage rates and energy consumption for both economic and environmental reasons, an increasing number of automotive manufacturers are looking to adopt more efficient and cost-effective methods of producing copper, steel and stainless-steel components.
