The psychologist, Livia Lima, supports employees’ well-being and mental health. Since Lima joined Luvata, the site has seen positive changes in trust, company culture, and the way challenging situations are handled. Safety and well-being in a factory setting go beyond physical matters. That’s why it is important to look at people in a holistic way. Looking after mental health is closely linked to prevention, support, and creating a healthier working environment every day. Luvata São Paulo strongly believes in this. After the pandemic, the company began using psychologist services for company-wide workshops and well-being projects one or two days a week. However, this was not enough, and in 2024, the site hired a full-time psychologist to work at the factory. “I believe that supporting employees’ mental and physical health and improving their quality of life benefits both our people and the business. Personal problems can affect work and vice versa, which is why our psychologist helps employees with many different kinds of challenges,” explains Leticia Maradei, Managing Director of Luvata São Paulo. Support for Employees and Managers When the psychologist first joined the company, there was some hesitation and doubt among the team. However, over time, those doubts disappeared. Today, Livia is a well-regarded colleague and an important source of support for both employees and managers. “My role is to act as a strategic bridge, helping to make processes more efficient while never losing sight of the impact that decisions and actions have on people. This means helping the company achieve its goals while also contributing to a positive employee experience,” explains psychologist Livia Lima. Livia’s typical workday combines processes and people. It includes meeting employees, carrying out well-being initiatives, and supporting managers, HR, and the Managing Director. “Trust is built every day through listening, respect, and consistency. I enjoy understanding what is happening and finding paths and solutions within my role.” Increase in Openness The on-site psychologist has brought many benefits to Luvata São Paulo. People are more open and feel safer speaking up, the team is more united, and trust has increased. From a business perspective, this has also contributed to better productivity. “There has been a gradual increase in openness when discussing topics that are not always easy to address. Talking about feelings or asking for help can still be difficult. However, initiatives like this help reduce stigma and reinforce the idea that seeking support is also a form of self-respect”, Livia Lima says. As a professional, Lima sees that Luvata São Paulo has the unique advantage of genuinely recognizing the importance of holistic employee well-being and understanding the value of providing a space for listening and support. This helps make mental health a more natural and visible part of everyday working life. Regular Well-being Activities Employee well-being is at the heart of Luvata São Paulo’s approach. The company organizes well-being-related activities and events regularly throughout the year. Recently, Luvata São Paulo has organized themed months and activities focused on self-care and prevention, mental health and emotional well-being, resilience training, time management and productivity, and recognizing health-related symptoms, to name a few. The team also promotes health together through activities such as group running events that encourage people to exercise.
